WELCOME TO FINEPRINT CO - A CURATED ART ARCHIVAL

Mel Brigg

Mel Brigg’s paintings are a fusion of skilled application and simple subject matter which result in artwork that are expansive in their vision. Brigg’s studio practice considers the complexities of the human condition and reflect turbulent times that the human race may endure with countries in conflict.

Light, perspective, texture, structure and lyrically atmospheric colour are core to Brigg’s works which depict South African and Australian landscapes. These methods enable Briggs to eloquently evoke emotive works that express harmony and peace which proceed national conflicts.

South African born, Brigg now resides in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. His talent has enabled him to focus solely on his studio practice, frequently holding exhibitions both nationally and internationally. His works are part of private collections with the Queensland State Government, Royal Exchange (London) and the South African Embassies (Singapore, Canada, Belgium), to name a few.

Brigg’s was a finalist in the 2012 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and he is the founder of the Swellendam Art Society.
