Description
Oma's Trifle Artist Print by Jane Hoggard

The large hand blown blue bowl signified trifle and guests arriving when I was growing up.- usually overseas work visitors. The walls and mantles were littered with blue Dutch plates and vases. The traditional genre of still life is a frequent starting point for me – simplified shapes to work out a composition, sometimes in great detail which is then almost always hidden by the end of the paintings story. Such a family history of the stuff it’s not surprising the odd blue delft teacup rears its head!
