The sun had just dropped below the horizon when I saw the tender coming in from the catamaran offshore. That brief window of twilight maybe ten minutes at most, turns the sky into something you can barely believe. I made a deliberate choice to expose for that light and let everything else become shadow: the palm trunks, the people on the sand, the families at the water's edge. They become silhouettes, witnesses to the same quiet spectacle. Nobody on that beach was looking at anything else. In that moment, nothing else existed.
