Adam Bovino

Adam is a veteran news camera operator, working for the Channel Nine Network in Australia for more than 15 years. During that time, he has been deployed to cover major stories and breaking news across the globe. Some of his memorable assignments were capturing the assault on Mosul, Iraq in 2016; the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Thailand in 2004 and the World Cup, Brazil in 2014.

For four years (during 2017-2020) Adam was based in the United States for his work. Using Chanel Nine’s Los Angeles Bureau as a base, he covered major international news such as the Donald Trump Presidency; the forefront of the Covid-19 pandemic; and the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. His brace and completive live coverage of those protests earned him the Walkley Award for Television/Video camerawork in 2020.

While videography has enabled Adam to use a camera for a career, his passion remains photography. Adam is rarely seen without a camera over his shoulder, searching for the contrast of light and shade and elegance in everyday moments. Adam’s private collection of works is predominantly black and white and showcases the beauty of the world around him outside of his often harsh press life.
