Laurelle Kop is a Photographer drawn to travel, light, colour and life around the ocean.

Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the ocean has always been a familiar part of her life. A love of travel later took her around the world, where photography became a way of capturing the places, people and everyday scenes she encountered along the way.

Having called the Gold Coast home for the past 15 years, Laurelle finds inspiration in the surf and coastal lifestyle of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. Her work captures the little rituals that make this part of the world so familiar: surfers heading out, waiting for the next set, early mornings, lifeguard towers, headlands, quiet waters and the everyday moments that unfold by the ocean.

With a love for bold colour and contrast, Laurelle uses natural light and shadow to capture the character and atmosphere of each scene.

Her collection, Coastbound, brings together 24 photographic prints celebrating surf, light and life along the coast. Laurelle hopes people see more than just a coastal scene in each photograph, but something that feels familiar - a place, a memory or a feeling that connects them to life by the ocean.
