Banksia cones or ‘pods’ are unique and intriguing sculptural forms that I love to play with in my work. Their unstructured prickly seed containers add a texture and earthiness to the landscape and they have a whimsical dimensionality that provides lots of entertainment for me when I’m deliberating on compositional elements. This bush landscape was inspired by my walks around the Girraween National Park.
