I’ve always loved how rugged fieldstone—often sourced in Palm Springs from the nearby San Jacinto Mountains—softens the stark lines of the modern architecture. The textured masonry grounds this 1968 home by William Krisel, echoing the mountain backdrop and adding warmth to the clean geometry.

What caught my eye was the door, painted in that unmistakable Tiffany blue. Against the stone and crisp façade, the colour feels like the lid of a jewel box—offering a first hint of the carefully curated interior and the hidden private oasis beyond.
