Rules & Requirements
The Important Stuff.
Technical Requirements
Your submission must meet the following requirements:
File format: JPG, JPEG or PNG
Maximum submission size: 20 MB
Minimum image size: 3,000 pixels on the longest edge
Resolution: 300 DPI recommended
Both portrait and landscape photography may be submitted.
Mobile Photography
Accepted.
Film Photography
Accepted, provided the image has been professionally scanned or digitised and submitted as a high-resolution digital file.
Drone Photography
Accepted, provided the photograph was captured legally and in accordance with applicable local aviation and privacy regulations.
Borders
Borders, frames or intentional negative space may be included where they form part of the photographer's creative composition. Accidental borders created during scanning, editing or exporting should be removed.
Watermarks
Watermarks are not permitted. Artist signatures may only be included where they form an intentional part of the original artwork.
AI Policy
AI-generated photography is not eligible.
The core photographic image must have been captured by the entrant.
Standard photographic adjustments and minor technical editing are permitted, including cropping, colour correction, exposure adjustments, contrast, sharpening and minor technical clean-up.
Images created wholly or substantially using generative AI, or images where AI has been used to fabricate the core subject or introduce major visual elements that weren't present in the original photograph, are not permitted.
FINEPRINTCO may request original files from shortlisted photographers to verify the authenticity of an entry.
If You're Shortlisted
Keep Your Original.
Shortlisted finalists may be asked to provide an original, print-quality master file for technical assessment and potential fine art print production.
This may include:
High-resolution TIFF
PSD
Original RAW file
Original high-resolution film scan
The final master file may be larger than the initial 20 MB submission limit.
