Francesca Owen

Francesca Owen

"Being a synchronised swimmer has given me years of seeing and perceiving life and movement underwater. Being involved in a female dominated sport, I grew up performing next to other female athletes and friends which is why my work has such a strong female presence.

During high school I was never interested in boys, I was actually quit quirky, and my passion was all about the pool and fine arts. I remember sometimes sleeping in my togs and cap to make sure I was ready to get up and go on the Saturday morning 5am wakeup calls."

Fran Miller

"I am curious, enthralled and fascinated by almost everything which inherently translates into how I see the world. I feel like there are no bounds to what we can learn, and I use this ethos in pursuing and evolving how I see photography as a tool and what I can photograph. I love surfing and the ocean, and over time this has seen an evolution in my photography to not just photograph the act of surfing or the ocean environment, but to ask questions that step into the metaphysical connections between self, existence and surfing."

Beth Mitchell

Beth Mitchell

"Born and raised in Queensland! As a kid I was obsessed with the ocean. My family would be by the sea at every holiday.

I started playing around with cameras at a very early age. It was no surprise to my parents that hours upon hours of my youth were spent doing photo shoots. I first started shooting underwater about ten years ago, it began with friends in elaborate costumes and outrageous props like balloons, instruments and feather boas. Over that time my work developed skilfully and conceptually. As I grew, experienced life in our society as a girl growing into womanhood, started understanding who I was and where my passions lay, my work grew with me."

Rachael Baskerville

Rachael Baskerville

A photographic artist based in Brisbane, Australia. Her landscape work is light, airy, and minimal with muted tones and an emphasis on negative space and clean composition.

Her collection predominantly features locations on the Australian east coast, however includes a growing number of international destinations.

In her work, she focuses on capturing the soul of the place she is photographing, and the sense of peacefulness and serenity that being in that place brings.

"I am a creative through and through. I have always loved art and all things creative. What I do in my work life carries through to my personal life and is part of who I am.

My husband is a design architect and we often collaborate on projects together both for others or ourselves. We are lucky we have similar taste and work well together as a team.

I am also a mum of two kids, now 11 and 10. Photography has been a great way to get flexibility in my work so I can be available for them when need be. I love working for myself so I have more control over when I choose to work and the type of work I do."

Penny Prangnell

"Originally born in rural New South Wales, I relocated to Melbourne for university and to immerse myself in the music and art scene. After a long stint working professionally in the field of aerial photography, I decided to pursue a lifestyle of travel and minimal commitments, to enable myself to explore and enact on the curiosity I possess towards the natural world. I have a positive outlook on life and consider myself to be very motivated by both my smallest and wildest of dreams."
