Rosie Gordon is a born and raised Byron Bay local who spent her youth teaching herself photorealism from her family home. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School and Southern Cross University, and has received multiple art awards including five People's Choice Awards and an Emerging Artist Award at the Northern Rivers Portrait Prize (now the Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize).
With a diverse range of art skills ranging from realism to abstract, Rosie is also known for her bespoke original artworks and murals for commercial businesses and luxury guest houses.
This collection of prints, titled Portals explores moments of lucidity and aims to cultivate optimism and reconnection. Working intuitively with oil paint, incorporating layers of colour, tone and texture, the work speaks to the process of unlearning and letting go of conditioning and control, becoming free enough to create something new.
